The International Chugaev Conference on Coordination Chemistry is one of the largest and most authoritative specialised domestic scientific chemical forums. The initiators of the Chugaev Conferences were prominent Russian chemists Academicians I. I. Chernyaev and A. A. Grinberg. Since 1937, the Chugaev Conferences have been held in various republics of the USSR and the states that later emerged from them. The purpose of the International Chugaev conferences was to exchange information between scientists from different scientific centres on the results of fundamental research in coordination chemistry, metal complex catalysis, physical chemistry of coordination compounds and chemistry of materials, as well as to stimulate applied work in these areas of chemical science. This conference has always been distinguished by high scientific level, relevance of the discussed problems, favourable atmosphere, and participation of the largest Russian and foreign scientists.
Kazan was chosen as the venue for the XXIX International Chugaev Conference on Coordination Chemistry and the accompanying VI Youth School-Conference «Physicochemical Methods in the Chemistry of Coordination Compounds» in 2025.
